Prior to commencement of our services the hospital pharmacy had 2 full time pharmacists, one part time pharmacist, 2 full time technicians and a part time technician. Remote pharmacy order entry was also being provided by another service provider. Immediately following the implementation of services the staff was reduced by one full time pharmacist and one full time technician. The net annual savings after our remote services were in place and our management fee added in was $70,000. As a second phase we plan to eliminate weekend coverage and utilize remote services only which will further decrease costs by $40,000 annually.
